The GVSU women's basketball team is set to compete for their second National Title in the program's history. The match is against California State-Dominguez Hills and will begin at 7:00 PM.

In their previous game, the Lakers defeated the tournament's fourth seed, Pittsburg State, with a score of 68-61, advancing them to the National Championship game for the second time since 2005-06, during which they won their first title. GVSU's Nicole Kamin played a significant role, contributing 21 points, particularly strong in the second half, along with seven steals, rebounds, and assists. Rylie Bisballe and Paige Vanstee also made impressive contributions to the team's success.

California State-Dominguez Hills, entering the National Championship game for the first time, has shown strong performance with victories over Coker and Union. Led by WBCA National Player of the Year Nala Williams, who averages 17.3 points and has shown even better performance in recent games, the Toros have demonstrated their capability to force turnovers effectively, ranking high in the nation for this statistic.
