The events scheduled for this weekend include the Jim Freeman / Clark Wood Invitational at the University of Louisville, the Drake Relays at Drake University, and the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet held at the university's home facility.

The competition starts on Friday as participants from the track and field teams will attend the Clark Wood Invitational and the Drake Relays. The following day, athletes will continue to compete in these events and the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet.

Representing Grand Valley at the Louisville meet will be the pole vault squad. Both male and female athletes will participate on Friday. For the women's team, Brooke Bowers stands out with a jump of 4.30 meters, placing her second in NCAA Division II rankings.

At the Drake Relays, competitors Jaivon Harrison, Kaylee Diamond, and Alaina Diaz are set to showcase their skills in high jump and long jump events. Harrison is scheduled to compete in the men's college/university high jump on Friday, while Diamond will make her appearance on Saturday. Diaz is set for the women's college/university long jump event on Friday.

The GVSU Extra Weekend Meet will see 44 men and 28 women from Grand Valley State participating. The women's hammer throw begins at noon, with various events such as discus, shot put, pole vault, high jump, and long jump following thereafter. Running events will also start at noon, with individual events planned until the evening.

According to the event's outline, the invitational sections, which will feature the top entries in various events, are set to commence at 6:20 p.m. The series of events will include contests such as the 5000m, 3000m steeplechase, 800m and 1500m races, wrapping up later in the evening.

Updates, photos, results, and more information about the meets will be available through Grand Valley State University's track and field team's social media channels. Following the conclusion of the events, a detailed recap will be available on the official website, gvsulakers.com.
