Rep. Bill Huizenga, a U.S. Congressman representing Michigan’s 4th district since 2011, recently shared several updates on his official social media account. The posts reflect on a colleague's passing, the need for regulatory adjustments to improve affordability, and support for American manufacturing.

On May 21, 2025, Rep. Huizenga expressed condolences over the death of his colleague Gerry Connolly. He stated: "Today the @HouseForeignGOP & @HouseForeign honor our colleague @GerryConnolly who passed away this morning. My heart and prayers go out to the Connolly Family as well as the staff who served Virginia’s 11th Congressional District with him."

Later that day, he addressed economic concerns by advocating for improved affordability through regulatory adjustments at various government levels. In his post, he mentioned: "Government at all levels needs to be looking for ways to improve affordability. This means right-sizing regulations at the local, state, and federal level." He emphasized his commitment to supporting families in Southwest Michigan.

In another update on May 21st, Rep. Huizenga celebrated positive developments in American manufacturing and urged legislative action to sustain this momentum. He tweeted: "More great news for American manufacturing! It is great to see American companies continue to increase investment here in the United States! Let's pass the One Big Beautiful Bill and deliver an American manufacturing renaissance!"

Bill Huizenga has been serving in Congress since succeeding Pete Hoekstra in 2011 and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in Zeeland, Michigan in 1969, he resides in Holland and holds a BA from Calvin College.
