Rep. Bill Huizenga, who represents Michigan’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress and chairs the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South & Central Asia, posted a series of statements on social media addressing international events, political violence, and the anniversary of September 11.

On September 10, 2025, Huizenga addressed recent unrest in Nepal: "As Chairman of the @HouseForeignGOP South & Central Asia Subcommittee, I am closely monitoring the situation unfolding in Nepal and have requested a briefing from the @StateDept. I urge deescalation from all parties involved and a stop to the indiscriminate violence."

Later that day, he commented on an incident involving Charlie Kirk: "My heart and prayers goes out to the family and friends of Charlie Kirk. While we don’t know who, we have a good idea why, and it is disgusting. The growing violence against conservative voices seems to be tolerated by some but should be rejected by all."

On September 11, Huizenga reflected on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks in 2001: "Today we remember the tragic loss of life when terrorists attacked our nation on September 11th, 2001. We honor the memory of those lost and thank the amazing first responders who showed unbelievable courage, embodied the spirit of America, and saved their fellow citizens!"

Bill Huizenga has served in Congress since 2011 after replacing Pete Hoekstra as representative for Michigan’s 4th district. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in Zeeland, Michigan in 1969, Huizenga currently resides in Holland and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Calvin College.
