Grand Valley State men's golf leads by 26 strokes at Nemacolin Intercollegiate

The Grand Valley State men's golf team began their final tournament of the fall season at the Nemacolin Intercollegiate in Farmington, Pennsylvania. After the first round and a partially completed second round, which was suspended due to darkness, Grand Valley State established a significant 26-stroke lead.

Grand Valley State finished day one at four under par and were six under in the second round before play was halted. Hillsdale followed in second place with a score of 22 over par, while UIndy was third at 24 over. Anderson and Findlay were tied for fourth at 25 over.

All five members of the Lakers' team finished inside the top ten individually. Manuel Cue Vargas led the group, making six birdies and finishing four under par. Charlie Cooley was three strokes behind in second place after also recording six birdies. Maverick Conaway and Bryce Wheeler were tied for fourth at one over; Conaway made seven birdies while Wheeler had four. Andrew Gwilliams ended his day two over par with five birdies.

The team is set to complete their suspended second round before starting the final round tomorrow morning.
