Grand Valley State leads Nemacolin Intercollegiate after first round

The Grand Valley State women's golf team began their final tournament of the fall season at the Nemacolin Intercollegiate in Farmington, Pennsylvania. After completing the first round, play was suspended during the second round due to darkness, with Grand Valley State leading the field.

At the end of day one, the Lakers posted a team score of +22, putting them nine strokes ahead of North Georgia, which finished at +35. UIndy held third place at +41, followed by UMSL at +47 and Findlay at +49.

June Hsiao led the Lakers by tying for first place individually after recording seven birdies and finishing one over par. Lea Stotz tied for sixth with a score of +9 and four birdies. Rachael Krieger finished tied for eighth at +10 after making five birdies. Charlotte Goersch ended the day tied for 15th at +12 with four birdies, and Heida Rafnsdottir tied for 17th at +13 with two birdies.

The tournament will resume with the completion of round two, followed by the final round scheduled to begin tomorrow morning.
