At around noon on August 26, 2025, the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a suspicious package at the Boatwerks restaurant. According to officials, an employee saw an individual place a package in a tree near the restaurant before leaving the area in a vehicle.
Officers who arrived at the scene found the package as described. As a safety measure, people inside the restaurant were asked to stay inside while authorities investigated the situation. The Michigan State Police Bomb Team was called to assess the package. They determined that the item was not dangerous.
The incident did not result in any injuries or damage. Local authorities have not released further details about the person who left the package.
