City of Allegan recently issued the following announcement.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The City of Allegan will never call residents to ask for payment over the phone.
We have been made aware of a scam call asking for residents to pay their water bill over the phone or have their services shut off.
While payment may be made over the phone (as well as online or in person) the City of Allegan will never initiate these calls.
