Grand Valley State University secured a 5-2 victory over Davenport University in the second round of the GLIAC Tournament on Friday evening. The game took place at Jackson Field in Lansing, Michigan. With this win, GVSU will face Saginaw Valley State University in a winner's bracket game scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. This marks the fifth time GVSU has defeated Davenport in the past eight days.

The match began as a pitchers' duel through the first three innings, with GVSU remaining hitless until junior Brendan Guciardo managed to single to left field. Nate Logan followed with another single, advancing Guciardo to third base. Senior Connor Schuman then brought Guciardo home with an infield single. Senior Logan Anderson delivered a crucial moment by hitting a two-out, two-strike, three-run home run to left field, putting GVSU ahead 4-0.

Davenport responded with a run in the fifth inning, but GVSU quickly countered. Gulbrandsen singled and advanced on a groundout before Logan drove him home with an RBI single after a brief delay due to an umpire meeting.

A key defensive play by Connor Schuman occurred in the eighth inning when he fielded a ground ball deep at shortstop and forced an out at third base. Pitcher Will Goebel helped secure the win by inducing a fly-out and strikeout to end Davenport's threat.

Mike Morawski earned his seventh win of the season by pitching seven innings and allowing one run on six hits while striking out five batters. Will Goebel recorded the save after completing the final two innings. Notable performances included Logan Anderson going 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, Nate Logan going 2-for-3 with an RBI, Connor Schuman going 2-for-4 with a double, and Jake Rydquist also going 2-for-4 with a double.
