The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has recognized two Grand Valley State University (GVSU) baseball players for their outstanding performances. Senior pitcher Sam Leck and senior infielder Jake Rydquist have been named the GLIAC Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively.

During a successful weekend series against Wayne State, GVSU won three out of four games, securing both the weekend series and the season series with a 4-2 record. In a notable achievement, Sam Leck pitched the ninth no-hitter in GVSU's history during a 5-1 victory over Wayne State in the opening game on Saturday. Over seven innings, Leck allowed one run, struck out five batters, and permitted only three runners after the first inning. This season, he holds a 3-1 record with an ERA of 3.48 over 33.2 innings.

Jake Rydquist also delivered impressive results by going 7-for-14 at bat with seven RBIs and six runs scored throughout the series. His performance included three extra-base hits—a double, triple, and home run—alongside 13 total bases and four walks. In the final three games of the GLIAC series at Wayne State University (WSU), Rydquist achieved a batting average of .636 with six RBIs and five runs scored.

With these achievements, GVSU has moved into second place in their league standings following their victories over Wayne State.
