They are set to compete against Maryville, the third seed, on Thursday at the University of Indianapolis. Grand Valley State secured their spot in the NCAA Tournament after winning the GLIAC Tournament title game with a 5-3 victory over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday. This marks GVSU's 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their first since 2016. The Lakers have previously reached the NCAA Division II World Series six times and advanced to the National Championship game in 2004.
