Grand Valley State University faced a setback in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, losing 8-5 to the University of Indianapolis at Bart Kaufman Park, Indiana University. This marked GVSU's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2016, ending their season with a record of 30-25 under new head coach Jordan Keur.

Indianapolis took an early lead with two unearned runs in the first inning and extended it to 3-0 by the third. GVSU responded when Jonas Gulbrandsen hit a two-RBI single, bringing home Jake Rydquist and MacArthur Graybill, narrowing the gap to 3-2. However, Indianapolis scored four more runs in the fourth inning, including a three-run homerun that increased their lead to 7-2.

GVSU attempted a comeback with Rydquist doubling in Schuman during the fifth inning and Ryan Dykstra's double scoring Logan Anderson and Graybill in the sixth. Despite loading the bases in the eighth inning while trailing 8-5, they couldn't capitalize further.

Dykstra ended with two hits and two RBIs; Gulbrandsen also had two hits and one RBI. Other contributors included Schuman, Graybill, and Rydquist each adding runs or RBIs. Ayden VanEnkevort managed one hit while Kyle Nott drew three walks.

On pitching duties for GVSU was sophomore Mike Morawski who took the loss. Owen Avery pitched for two innings allowing just one hit with two strikeouts while Sam Leck finished off with three strikeouts over 3.1 innings conceding only one run on one hit.
