Grand Valley State University (GVSU) had six players named to the 2024 GLIAC All-Tournament Team, as announced by the league office. The Lakers won the 2024 GLIAC Tournament title with a perfect 4-0 record, including two victories over top-seeded Saginaw Valley State.

The pitching staff played a significant role in this success, with three starting pitchers earning spots on the all-tournament team. Senior Sam Leck delivered a complete-game victory against SVSU in the Saturday winners bracket game, striking out eight and allowing just six hits. Sophomore Mike Morawski secured a win over Davenport with one run allowed on six hits and five strikeouts over seven innings. Junior Michael Riley was instrumental in the championship game, conceding two runs on five hits across eight innings.

Offensively, senior third baseman Jake Rydquist impressed with a .467 batting average, collecting seven hits, three doubles, and scoring twice. Senior center fielder Kyle Nott contributed with a .333 average, six hits, four runs scored, and one double. Second baseman Ayden VanEnkevort excelled defensively while hitting .357 with five hits and five runs scored.

This victory marks GVSU's first GLIAC Tournament title since 2016 and their 12th overall. Their all-time record in GLIAC Tournament play now stands at 56-17. With this title win, GVSU earned an automatic berth into the NCAA DII Baseball National Championship. They are set to face Maryville on Thursday, May 16 at the University of Indianapolis at 2 p.m.
