Raul Briceno and Lucy Hedley have been recognized as the GLIAC Swimmers of the Week.
Lucy Hedley, representing Grand Valley State, achieved first place in three events against the University of Indianapolis. She won the 100 and 200 yard freestyle races with times of 51.08 and 1:50.67 respectively. Additionally, she was part of the winning team in the 400 yard freestyle relay, which finished with a time of 3:28.88. Hedley also secured second place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.83.
Raul Briceno, also from Grand Valley State, earned his recognition after competing against the University of Indianapolis. He placed second in both the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:37.59 and the 1000 yard freestyle clocking at 9:35.16. Briceno contributed to his team's fourth-place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 3:08.38.
The Grand Valley State men's and women's teams are set to compete in Marquette, Michigan this weekend for a Tri-Meet against Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley at PEIF Pool starting at 11 a.m.
