Grand Valley State track team earns multiple all-region honors

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2024 Division II Outdoor Track and Field season. The recognition is awarded to the top five individuals in each event from each region, as well as members of the region's top three relay teams.

Grand Valley State University's track and field program received a total of 48 All-Region honors this outdoor season, with 27 accolades going to men and 21 to women. Additionally, the men's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams were recognized with All-Region honors.

Several athletes from Grand Valley State earned multiple All-Region titles. For the men, Caleb Futter was honored in both the 1500m and steeplechase events, Myles Rhodes in the 200m and 400m races, and Steven Harris in both sets of hurdles (110m & 400m). The jumps team secured five All-Region honors: Eli Kosiba, Jonathan Rankins-James, and Jaivon Harrison in high jump; Luke Jelderks and Chrisly Kelly-Cannon in long jump.

On the women's side, Klaudia O'Malley led with three All-Region awards in the 800m, 1500m, and 5000m events. Taryn Chapko received two accolades for her performances in the 800m and 1500m races. In throws, Erika Beistle and Margaret Stevenson both earned recognition in discus and shot put.
