FOIA Request to Allegan County Election Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Holland Reporter have submitted a request under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq. We are seeking information about all candidates running in the upcoming election.
Our request includes detailed information about each candidate such as their first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; party affiliation; and all contact information including address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization dedicated to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we believe access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
We look forward to receiving this important information from the Allegan County Election Division and will continue our efforts to keep the public informed about their local government.
