Grand Valley State University's track and field teams concluded the second day of their multi-meet weekend in Allendale, Michigan. The events saw notable performances from athletes Klaudia O'Malley and Jaivon Harrison, securing top spots in NCAA Division II rankings.
At the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, Mason Floria finished ninth in the men's decathlon with track events like the high jump featuring Jaivon Harrison, who became the new top-ranked athlete in NCAA Division II after recording a 2.19m jump. The women's hammer throw saw Kennedy Jackson place seventh. Jaivon Harrison, despite his height tying for first, was ranked second due to count back. On the contrary, teammate Jonathan Rankins-James secured fifth place with a 2.11m jump. Pole vault and hurdles saw various competitions from Grand Valley athletes, with Luke Jelderks achieving ninth place in long jump and Myles Rhodes recording a personal-best in the 200m event.
The Texas Relays in Austin featured performances from James Mackey Jr. and Nathan Spitzley in the men's discus, with Mackey securing the 11th spot. The relay teams demonstrated commendable efforts, and the men's 4x100m relay team recorded the fourth-fastest time in the program's history.
In Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Raleigh Relays, Klaudia O'Malley set a personal record in the women's 1500m, contributing to her lead position. Other Lakers showcased their skills in various track events, including the 3000m steeplechase and 5000m races. Ana Tucker wrapped up the day with a 10000m run.
