The Historic District Commission is set to have three new vacancies this summer. The Commission collaborates with residents in historic districts, evaluating applications for Certificates of Appropriateness and ensuring they align with established standards and guidelines. These applications typically involve window and door replacements, additions, new construction, siding, porch reconstruction, and other exterior changes.

Prospective candidates should have an interest in historic preservation and reside within the Holland City limits, preferably within the historic districts. Additionally, there is a search for a candidate who has graduated from an accredited school of architecture or is a registered architect in the state.
