The Holland Ice Park is set to open with a public event on Friday, November 14 at 2:00 pm, with the first public open skate session scheduled for 6:00 pm the same evening. Tickets for all public open skate sessions, including the inaugural event, will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, October 28 at 9:00 am. Advance purchase is required, as tickets will only be sold online through hollandrecreation.com and will not be available at the park.
Located at the edge of Window on the Waterfront Park at 6th Street and Central Avenue, the Holland Ice Park offers an outdoor skating experience in Downtown Holland. The facility features a skating ribbon, ice pond, and curling sheet. The project was made possible in part by a $1 million donation from the late Frank Kraai, a teacher and community member who envisioned the park as a place for affordable winter recreation for all ages.
Reservations for open skate sessions and other activities at the Ice Park must be made in advance through hollandrecreation.com. The city encourages early reservations, anticipating strong interest in the new attraction. The Ice Park will be open from Tuesday to Sunday each week during the winter season, operating from November 14 through March 15, weather permitting.
