The Grand Valley State University men's wrestling team is set to begin its 2025-26 season at the Michigan State Open on Saturday, November 8. The event will be held at Jenison Fieldhouse and is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. Admission costs are $15 for adults and $5 for high school students and younger.

This season marks the debut of RJ Boudro as head coach for the Lakers. The team's lineup includes two NCAA qualifiers: Carter Blough, competing in the 285-pound weight class, and Braden Mirjavadi at 197 pounds. Blough achieved NCAA Division II All-American status last season with a record of 28-7 and secured third place at last year's Michigan State Open. Mirjavadi finished his redshirt freshman year with a 21-13 record at 184 pounds.

Other returning wrestlers include sophomore Orion Wilson, who went 16-16 last year in the 125-pound category and placed sixth at the NCAA Super Regional. Collin Twigg, who redshirted last season, will compete in the 141-pound division. Caden Jacobs, who posted an 8-6 record last season, will participate in the 165-pound weight class, while Bradley Mayse (12-13 during the previous campaign) is slated to wrestle at 184 pounds.
