Grand Valley State men's tennis sweeps Michigan Tech to end regular season

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team concluded their regular season with a decisive 7-0 victory against Michigan Tech on Saturday evening at the Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. This win brings the Lakers to a 13-6 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the GLIAC.

In doubles play, GVSU secured the point by winning at No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Sean Miller and Victor Lopes achieved a 6-4 win at the top spot, while Stephen Claassen and Lawrence Ivanov dominated with a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. The pair of Chimo Minguez and Jorge Ruiz faced a challenging match but fell short with a close 6-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.

For singles matches, Denys Zamaraiev led with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 victory in straight sets at the top position. Sean Miller followed with a hard-fought 6-1, 7-6 straight set win at No. 2 singles. Victor Lopes added to the success with a solid performance, winning his match 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Chimo Minguez secured his match with scores of 7-6, 6-4 in straight sets at No. 4 singles, while Freddy Cossio claimed victory with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-0 at No.5 singles. Ignasi Garros completed the sweep by adding another win for GVSU with scores of 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets at No.6 singles.
