Grand Valley State women's tennis narrowly defeated by Ferris State

The Grand Valley State women's tennis team experienced a narrow defeat against Ferris State, with a final score of 4-3 in their match on Saturday afternoon. This result brings the Lakers' season record to 8-7.

Ferris State secured the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions. The duo of Vasileia Griva and Rachel Sam managed a win at No. 2 doubles with a score of 7-6. However, Taylor Barrett and Neus Ramos lost their match at the top doubles position with a score of 4-6, while Estefania Hernandez and Vale Mozas were defeated 2-6 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Neus Ramos delivered a strong performance with a straight-set victory of 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Vale Mozas also won her match at No. 5 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-3, and Estefania Hernandez secured another win for the Lakers at No. 6 singles with scores of 6-2, 6-2. Despite these successes, Vasileia Griva was defeated in straight sets at the top singles position with scores of 3-6, 3-6. Taylor Barrett faced a close loss at No. 2 singles with scores of 6-7, 4-6, while Rachel Sam was narrowly defeated in her match at No. 3 singles with scores of 3-6, 6-7.

The Lakers are scheduled to return to action on April 12th when they travel to Detroit to compete against Wayne State, with the first serve set for 10:00 AM.
