The City of Holland Transportation Services Department employs a team of 15 staff members responsible for maintaining approximately 148 miles, equivalent to 315 lane miles, of city streets. In the event of snow accumulation, the drivers prioritize plowing major streets that accommodate higher traffic volumes. Once these primary roads are cleared, attention is turned to local streets and alleys. During significant snow events, drivers may need to revisit major roads multiple times before they can focus on clearing local roads and alleys.
