The Grand Valley State University women's soccer team secured a 1-0 victory over Roosevelt in the GLIAC quarterfinals on Tuesday evening. The match, held in Allendale, saw the Lakers advance to the semifinals with a season record of 17-2.

Grand Valley State controlled possession throughout the game and outshot Roosevelt by a wide margin, recording 32 attempts compared to Roosevelt's two. Of those, 12 shots were on target for GVSU while Roosevelt failed to register any shots on goal. Despite 16 first-half shots and several close chances—including two attempts that hit the post—the score remained tied at halftime.

The decisive moment came in the 73rd minute when Cora Conley scored her first collegiate goal. The play developed after a Laker corner kick: Alex Williams passed to Acadia Murphy, who delivered a cross from the left side to Kacy Lauer. Lauer then set up Conley for a shot that found the bottom right corner of the net.

Alli French led Grand Valley State with four shots, three of which were on target. Sarah Fromm and Vesna Dennison each contributed four shots as well, while Kendall Aikens and Amanda Palmer added three apiece. Conley finished with two shots during her 88 minutes on the field and scored what proved to be the game-winning goal. Both Lauer and Murphy played all 90 minutes and recorded assists.

Goalkeeper Macie Hunter achieved her tenth shutout of the season and earned her fifteenth win.

With this result, Grand Valley State will host both semifinal and championship matches of the GLIAC tournament at their home field. The Lakers are scheduled to face Northern Michigan in the semifinals on Friday, November 11 at 1:00 pm at GVSU Soccer Field. The second semifinal between Parkside and Saginaw Valley State will follow at 4:00 pm.
