Grand Valley State cross country teams win Midwest Region titles for 23rd straight year

Grand Valley State University's women's and men's cross country teams won the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championship titles for the 23rd consecutive year in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The women's team secured its 24th regional title, with all seven runners finishing among the top 13 and achieving a team score of 25 points. Senior Lauren Kiley repeated as champion, finishing first with a time of 20:38.00.

Teammates Abigail VanderKooi and Allie Arnsman finished third and fourth, respectively. Maggie O'Malley and Natalie Mello placed eighth and ninth, while Landyn Howell and Karen Kiratu completed the scoring in 12th and 13th place.

The men's team claimed its 23rd title, led by redshirt senior Koby Fraaza's third-place finish at 30:26.4. Other top finishers included Owen Westerkamp (fifth), Conor Somers (seventh), Sebastian Ramirez (14th), Brock Wooderson (15th), Nate Riddering (19th), and Noah Selvaraj (23rd). Several athletes recorded personal bests in the 10k race.

Both teams' first-place finishes qualified them for the upcoming NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on November 22 in Kenosha, hosted by the University of Wisconsin – Parkside. Dannehl National Cross Country Course or in advance by purchasing online," according to event organizers.
