Grand Valley State University's men's and women's cross country teams are preparing to compete in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. The event is scheduled for Friday, October 4th, at the Burke Golf Course located at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana.

The competition will see Grand Valley face off against several universities from across the United States, including Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Kansas. This marks the first time since 2014 that Grand Valley's teams will participate in this particular invitational. During their last appearance, both squads achieved notable success by securing gold medals against various Division I schools. Notably, Alan Peterson, who is now an assistant coach for Grand Valley, finished second in that event.

The women's team will have thirteen athletes competing in the Women's Blue Division 5,000-meter race at 10:30 a.m., while the men's team will feature seventeen participants in the Men's Blue Division 8,000-meter race starting at 11:15 a.m.
