Holland firefighter Evan Howe named 2025 Part-Paid Firefighter of the Year

The Holland Department of Public Safety - Fire Services has awarded Firefighter/EMT Evan Howe the title of 2025 Paid On-Call Firefighter of the Year. Howe joined the department in September 2020 and is currently stationed at Station #1. He is acknowledged by his colleagues for his positive attitude, dedication, and willingness to assist others.

Howe demonstrates a strong desire to enhance his firefighting skills and embodies the department's core values, which include compassion, respect, integrity, professionalism, and dedication. Since joining the department, he has obtained Michigan Firefighter I & II Certification and licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician. Additionally, Howe is pursuing an associate's degree in fire science at Kalamazoo Valley Community College with aspirations of becoming a full-time firefighter.
