Grand Valley State ends season with NCAA tournament loss to Wayne State

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team concluded their season with a 4-1 loss to Wayne State in the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, May 14, in Big Rapids. The Lakers ended the season with a record of 15-8.

Wayne State secured the doubles point by winning at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions. Sean Miller and Freddy Cossio faced a challenging match, losing 3-6 at the top doubles spot. Meanwhile, Lucas Gonzalez and Victor Lopes were defeated 1-6 at No. 2 doubles.

In singles matches, Jorge Ruiz achieved a straight-set victory with scores of 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. However, Sean Miller encountered difficulty at No. 2 singles, falling 3-6, 3-6. Lucas Gonzalez also struggled, losing his match with scores of 4-6, 2-6 at No. 3 singles. At No. 4 singles, Victor Lopes was defeated with scores of 0-6, 2-6.
