Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and Findlay split a non-conference doubleheader in Cincinnati, Ohio, at Hayden Field on the campus of Xavier University. GVSU secured a 5-4 victory in the second game after losing 16-2 in the first. The second game was cut short due to darkness.

In the second game, senior left fielder Ryan Dykstra hit a solo home run in the first inning. Findlay responded with one run in their half of the first and added three more runs in the second inning. GVSU's right fielder Jonas Gulbrandsen brought home a run with a sacrifice fly in the third inning, and third baseman Caleb Estrada scored center fielder Ayden VanEnkevort with a single in the fourth inning. The Lakers took a 5-4 lead by adding two runs in the sixth inning. Second baseman Zach Warren singled, and VanEnkevort walked, setting up first baseman Carter Rohman's sacrifice bunt to advance them. Estrada then delivered a single that scored both runners.

Junior pitcher Collin Bradley earned the win for GVSU by allowing just one hit and striking out six over three innings of relief work without conceding any runs. Jayden Dentler started on the mound but did not factor into the decision after giving up four runs—one earned—in three innings.

In game one, Grand Valley State fell to Findlay 16-2. Senior catcher Brendan Guciardo went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while designated hitter Jovan Gill and Estrada each recorded an RBI.

The scheduled doubleheader against Tiffin on Saturday has been canceled due to expected bad weather over the weekend. No new date has been set for these games.
